Now that Los Angeles County has lifted some restrictions regarding COVID-19, people are more eager than ever to regain a semblance of their old reality and get out and about. This is especially the case with the arrival of spring!

Just because things are opening back up, however, it doesn’t mean that all precautions should be cast aside, or even that everyone is comfortable with being back among people outside their bubbles. Here are a few different outdoor activities that you can now engage in again, and still be COVID-conscious.

1. Hiking has become a renewed favorite hobby of a surprisingly high number of Angelenos during the past year. Although hikers crowd many of the trails, AllTrails is a great resource to find less popular and more hidden ones. If you go on weekdays or early in the mornings, your chances are even better to avoid the masses.

2. Angelenos are lucky to enjoy the benefits of the state’s geographical location – the ocean, lakes and rivers, mountains, deserts, valleys, and forests. There are plenty of outdoor activities to choose from that you can do so while social distancing, whether that’s river rafting in the mountains, visiting Death Valley National Park, hiking in Yosemite, or going for ocean walks along the magnificent California coast line.

3. Fuse culture with being outdoors! Places such as The Huntington Library, the Descanso Gardens and South Coast Botanic Garden all provide a large dose of culture and beauty. Bring a book, grab your paint supplies, or just go for a stroll and smell the roses.

All these activities ensure the enjoyment of gorgeous weather, fresh air and beautiful views all while keeping a safe distance from others. I’d call this a win-win – just please do your part to prevent the further spread of the virus.
